Job Title:  Developer

Status:  Full-time

Job Location:  Syracuse, NY (Will also consider a remote position for right candidate)

As part of the Development team, the Developer will be responsible for fulfilling these requirements through the timely achievement of project milestones.

Knowledge and/or Skill Requirements:

• Must have knowledge of the following:
  • Operating systems: Linux/Unix
  • Languages: PHP, HTML, SQL, XML, Javascript, Perl, C++, Bash
  • Must have experience with large-scale web-based application development.
  • Must have an understanding of all of the components of LAMP
• Effective oral and written communications skills are required. The Developer is expected to be able to give impromptu written and oral presentations to other ShoreGroup employees. The Developer is expected to require a minimum amount of supervision.
• Extensive computer skills, including the use of Windows/Linux (GUI) applications, are required.
• Familiarity with standard office productivity, such as word processing, spreadsheet, presentation software, and e-mail are also required.

Job Duties and/or Requirements:

• Create and maintain software documents. These include requirements, design, build, change history and test documents.
• Maintain and administer existing software. This may include administration of software versions via a concurrent versioning system or similar method.
• Provide technical support to ShoreGroup personnel and customers as required
• Evaluate and modify existing software for inclusion in new products. This software may need to be modified or interfaced with for use with new products
• Develop new software to enhance or replace existing software. This includes packaging the software and the source code in a form that other developers can use
• Build prototype systems and define or evaluate packaging for commercial release
• Work with other developers/ShoreGroup employees in all tasks required to bring a product to market
• Other duties: Participate in special projects and perform related duties as assigned by department management. Additional duties may include after-hour on-call support.

Education:

• A minimum BS/BA degree in Computer Science or related field, two (2) years programming, development, and design experience as demonstrated by a combination of programming and/or product development experience.
